LION WOMEN GOLFERS START SPRING SEASON AT ST. MARY'S LADY RATTLER ROUNDUP
A&M-Commerce was lead by Chantry McMahan who placed 23rd with scores of 82-82 for a total of 164. Chelsea McCoy finished 31st with scores of 81-85 for an overall score of. Tied for 42nd were Sara Diaz 83-87 and Haley Green 82-88 both with a total of 170. Megan Benites finished the tournament 62nd with scores 89-96, 185.
St. Edwards University had a nine-stroke lead after day one
with a final round 311 and a two-day total of 608. Individual
champion Wallis Spears of St. Edwards University, who shot 71 in
her first round of play and 78 on the second day with a total
score of 148. Spears had a one-stroke victory over runner up
Joanna De Sa Peirera from the University of Incarnate Word.
The Lions return to action on March 6-7 at the East Central
University Golf Tournament at Oak Hills Country Club in Ada,
Oklahoma.
