A&M-Commerce Posts 9-0 Win Over Texas A&M International

Lasley scored four first half goals and assisted on two
more in a 9-0 rout by the Texas A&M University-Commerce soccer
team over host Texas A&M-International on Saturday afternoon in
Laredo, Texas.
Lasley and the Lions scored seven times in the first half as
A&M-Commerce improves to 4-1-1 and A&M-International falls
to 1-7. Also, in the victory, the Lions outshot the Dustdevils by a
35-4 margin.
After the first goal of the afternoon by Lasley in the
10th minute, an aggressive Lions attack scored six goals
from the 21st minute to the 44th minute to
blow the contest wide open. A pair of freshman -
Jordan McCarty and Courtney Coch
- scored their first collegiate goals in the 21st and 44th minute,
respectively. On both goals, Lasley had an assist as she has been
involved in 14 of the 19 goals scored by A&M-COmmerce. Also
scoring for the Lions was junior Whitney Hancock,
who found the back of the net in the 38th minute.
In the second 45 minutes,
sophomores Alex Germain and Chelsey
Haight added two more goals for the final margin.
The Lions will return home for its next two matches, beginning
with a matchup against St. Edward's - the No. 3 team in the latest
NSCAA/adidas South Central regional rankings - on Friday at 4
p.m. Following the contest against the Hilltoppers,
A&M-Commerce will host Division I foe and Southland Conference
favorite McNeese State on Sunday at noon.
