Meagan Lasley and Sarah Reed Named Daktronics South Central All-Region Second Team

Texas A&M University-Commerce juniors Meagan Lasley and Sarah Reed were named to the 2008 Daktronics South Central Region Second Team on Tuesday.

Lasley and Reed have been an important part of an A&M-Commerce women's soccer team that recently received a bid to the upcoming NCAA Tournament, starting on Friday.

Lasley ranks among one of the top players in the nation. She is 12th in the nation in points per game (2.45), 16th in goals per game (0.95) and 22nd in assists per game (0.95). The Mesquite, Texas native forward enters the post-season with 19 goals and 11 assists for 49 points. The 49 points is a single-season record at A&M-Commerce.

Reed, who is originally from Allen, Texas, has played and started all 20 games. In addition to her aggressive on the ball defensive skills, she has recorded six assists - most of which came on corner kick opportunities.

A&M-Commerce (14-3-3) makes its fourth NCAA Tournament appearance in school history on Friday at 1 pm against the University of Nebraska-Omaha in Warrensburg, Missouri.
