Lions Ranked No. 15 in Final NSCAA/adidas Division II Poll
The Texas A&M University-Commerce
women's soccer team was ranked No. 15 in the final NSCAA/adidas
poll announced on Tuesday.
The Lions emerged from unranked in the final regular season poll
to the No. 15 spot in the final poll. The last time that
A&M-Commerce finished the season ranked in the top 25 was in
2004, when they were ranked No. 23.
A&M-Commerce finished the 2008 season with a 16-4-3 overall
record and the 16 wins match the 1999 team for the most in a season
in school history. Also, the Lions made its fourth appearance in
school history to the NCAA Tournament, where they advanced to the
third round for the second time in program history.
Recently, juniors Taylor
Jordan and Meagan
Lasley were named second and third team NSCAA/adidas
All-Americans, respectively and the duo were joined on the
all-South Central region first team by senior Melissa DoRemus and junior Sarah Reed. Plus, sophomore Chelsey Haight was a second team
selection.
