2008: Named to the Lone Star Conference All-Academic Team...saw action in 21 contests, earning starts against Texas A&M International (Sept. 20) and Midwestern State (Oct. 10)…recorded shots against St. Edward’s (Sept. 26) and East Central (Nov. 2)…played a season-high 61 minutes in the 2-1 win over Midwestern State…also saw extensive action against Dallas Baptist (Sept. 1), Harding (Sept. 9), Texas A&M International (Sept. 20), St. Edward’s (Sept. 26) Central Oklahoma (Oct. 5) and East Central (Nov. 2).
2007: Played and started all 21 matches at goalkeeper for the Lions…recorded five shutouts and allowed just one goal in five more matches…fifth in the Lone Star Conference in saves (100)…sixth in the LSC and 88th in the nation in saves per game (5.0)…converted the winning kick and made the decisive save in the Lone Star Conference Tournament quarterfinals win against Texas Woman’s (Nov. 1)…made a season-high 10 saves against Incarnate Word (Sept. 14) and Central Oklahoma (Nov. 2).
2006: Played in 11 matches with three starts...recorded a shot against St. Mary’s (Sept. 21)... saw action in a season-high 105 minutes in the 3-2 double overtime victory over Eastern New Mexico (Oct. 22).
Prior to A&M-Commerce: A three-year starter at Southlake Carroll High School...made 42 saves as a senior in 12 games of action en route to honorable mention all-district honors...also named academic all-district and all-state...team advanced to the regional finals as a senior...a member of student council and the Spanish Club in high school...played on the Texas Olympic Development Team for two years.
Personal: Born April 19, 1988...daughter of Paul and Elsa Alvarado...sister, Michelle played for the Lions where she was a second team all-Lone Star Conference selection in 2004 as a senior...a sports management major.
