Lions Return to Winning Ways
Senior Meagan Lasley scored her team-leading eighth goal in the fourth minute of overtime to lead the Texas A&M University-Commerce women's soccer team to a 1-0 win over Eastern New Mexico on Monday afternoon.
A&M-Commerce (7-5, 2-2 LSC) out shot their counterparts by a 16 to 5 margin as seven different Lions had shots in the shutout win. Sophomore goalkeeper Randi Hafele made three saves for her second shutout of the season.
Eastern New Mexico (7-7, 2-3 LSC) with the loss dropped its third-consecutive decision. Zias' goalkeeper Sierra Cardenas made six saves including a pair against penalty kicks in the final minutes of regulation.
All seven Lions that had a shot were able to get multiple opportunities in the win. Next, the Lions will continue the rigors of the Lone Star Conference on Friday at Angelo State at 4 pm.
