MOTHER NATURE WASHES OUT LIONS' MATCH AT HARDING FRIDAY
SEARCY, Ark. -- A&M-Commerce looked solid early in its match against host Harding Friday evening, but mother nature had other plans as strong thunderstorms and lightning moved through the Searcy area, canceling the game in the 31st minute.
The Lions held a 1-0 lead at the time of the cancellation as freshman Anitra Wright had found the back of the net in the 10th minute, beating the Lady Bison goalie in the lower right corner to give A&M-Commerce the advantage. When play was stopped, the Lions held a 4-3 shot advantage as both Tracey Rogers and Harding goalkeeper Danielle Nonaka had registered a pair of saves.
The game against Harding will not be made up, which means A&M-Commerce now sets its sights on Lone Star Conference play. The Lions begin their LSC slate on the road, traveling west for a showdown with West Texas A&M Friday evening, followed by a battle with Eastern New Mexico Sunday afternoon.
