LIONS RETURN HOME TO FACE ANGELO STATE AND INCARNATE WORD

The Lions return home for five straight games. First up is Angelo State and Incarnate Word on Friday and Sunday.

Recapping last week's action
The Lions split two games when they traveled to West Texas and Eastern New Mexico. Traveling to Canyon, Texas used to be a problem for the Lions but not recently as they tallied their second straight victory over West Texas in Canyon after being 1-9 in the prior 10 trips. Brionna Minde and Anitra Wright recorded goals as the Lions won 2-1. On Sunday, the Lions dropped a competitive 1-0 game to the Zias of Eastern New Mexico.

SCOUTING THE RAMBELLES
The Rambelles of Angelo State are coming off their first victory over Abilene Christian since 2008 after beating them 1-0 off a Katie Squires (#3) in the 79th minute. Angelo also played to a 1-1 tie versus Midwestern State last week at home. The Lions and the Rambelles have one common opponent so far and it Fort Lewis College with both teams suffering defeats to the Skyhawks, number 2 in most recent national coaches poll, so far this season. Squires leads Angelo State with two goals this season and four more players have recorded one tally. Goalkeeper Danielle Edwards has started all six games and has a 1.09 goals against average this season.
