Lions travel to Incarnate Word and Angelo State over the weekend and try to continue climbing back into conference race.

Recapping this week's action
A&M-Commerce won both games last week against Abilene Christian and Texas Woman's. Both of the wins game one goal was the Lions outlasted the Wildcats 1-0 on Monday and beat the Pioneers of Texas Woman's 3-2 in overtime on Wednesday at Lion Soccer Field. Stephanie Neely scored the game winner against Abilene Christian in the 27th minute. Against TWU Callie found her sister Cadie Annett for the game winner in overtime for the win.

 PREVIEWING THE CARDINALS
The Cardinals are coming off a five straight on the road going 3-2 over that stretch. One of those victories came over the first place West Texas A&M Lady Buffs. Amber Guenther (#4) leads the Cardinals in points, 19, and goals, 5. Katie Miller (#3) and Jordyn Garcia (#17) are both second on the team with three goals apiece. Heather Kowalik (0) has started the last five games in goal for UIW giving up eight goals in those five. This is a big game in terms of the standings in the Lone Star Conference with a win by A&M-Commerce and they can tie the Cardinals with a 4-4 record in third place in the conference. A win also gives the Lions a 1-1 record over the UIW and takes away a potential tiebreaking advantage from the Cardinals.

PREVIEWING THE RAMBELLES
The Rambelles are coming off a loss to UIW 1-0 and face Texas Woman's before facing the Lions on Sunday. The Rambelles are led by Kaite Squires (3), Maggie Schaffer (10) and Sierra Anderson (11) who all have two goals on the season. Those three also lead the team in points with four each. Angelo is currently fourth on the LSC standings with a 3-3-1 record. Having lost to Angelo back on September 21st the Lions can also bring the season series to 1-1 with Angelo and take away the tie breaking advantage as well as pull back above .500 for the first time since the being 1-0.

After this weekend road trip the Lions return home for the final home weekend of the season with games set for Friday versus Eastern New Mexico and Sunday against the first place West Texas A&M Lady Buffs.
