Denton, Texas – A Late first half goal was all the Pioneers needed as they toke down the Lions in the season finale for the Lions.
Callie Annett had a chance off a corner kick in the 25th miunte but her shot went wide. This will turn out to be the only shot the Lions had in the first half. The Lions were able hold off the Pioneers early but Erin Bolinger scored in the 43rd minute for her first of the season.
The best chance the Lions had to tie the game was the back-to-back corners by Brionna Minde and Anitra Wright. Off the corners Minde had shot but was turned away by TMU goalkeeper, Lindsey Sisco. Under a minute late Sydney Lawthers had a chance go wide off another Wright Corner.
Holding a seven to three advantage in corners did not translate into a shot advantage and a 1-0 defeat on the road to close out the season.
