Addison named Co-LSC Offensive Player of the Week

After recording a double-double with 13 kills and 10 digs against the Texas Woman’s Pioneers, junior Amy Addison was named Co-Lone Star Conference Offensive Player of Week on Tuesday.

“I am very proud of Amy,” said Lions head volleyball coach Mark Pryor. “She has worked unbelievably hard this fall, and I am glad to see that she is getting noticed by the conference for all her hard work on the court and in the weight room.

Addison also collected a .278 hitting percentage, and helped the Lions secure their first winning season since a 23-win effort in 2002.

A&M-Commerce improved to 14-8 overall and 6-3 in LSC play with the 3-0 win over the Pioneers on Thursday, and with another victory this season, the Lions would secure their first winning conference record since 2002, as well.

Addison has been an instrumental part in the Lions’ success this season, registering 183 kills and 147 digs. She ranks second on the team with 2.51 kills per set, third in overall kills, third in digs and fourth in points with 205.

The Lions return to action on Thursday at 6 p.m. against Southwestern Oklahoma State in Weatherford, Okla.
