Mark Pryor and Lauren Flynn Receive Recognition
Recently at halftime of the Texas A&M University-Commerce men's basketball game against East Central, Lions' volleyball head coach Mark Pryor and volleyball standout Lauren Flynn were recognized.
Head Coach Mark Pryor was presented a plaque to recognize his efforts as the 2009 Lone Star Conference Volleyball Coach of the Year. Pryor led A&M-Commerce to a .727 winning percentage for its best effort since a .857 (30-5) effort in 1987 when A&M-Commerce posted a 30-5 mark en route to an LSC Championship. The 24 victories are the most since 1987 and the fifth highest total in school history and the fourth-place regular season finish is the highest since 2004 when the conference was split into two divisions.
Lauren Flynn was presented a special ball to recognize her accomplishments in 2009, where she became the first volleyball player in the program's history to earn first team All-American honors. Also recognized on the ball was that she set the school single-season record in digs with 745 and career mark with 2,640. In addition, it was also recognized that she led NCAA Division II volleyball in 2009 with 6.21 digs per set.
