Lauren Flynn and Perla Faudoa Earn Weekly Recognition from Lone Star Conference

Texas A&M University-Commerce senior volleyball players Perla Faudoa and Lauren Flynn (pictured by Jared Horn) were named Lone Star Conference Setter and Defensive Player of the Week, respectively.

Faudoa, a setter from Juarez, Mexico, recorded 58 assists in the five-set win over Central Oklahoma to go along with two service aces and four kills. Against SWOSU, she had 29 assists and four kills and two block assists in the win.

Flynn, a libero from Deer Park, Texas, recorded 40 digs, averaging eight per set in the Lions' five set win over Central Oklahoma. It is the second time in 2009 that she had over 40 digs in a match. She followed that up with an 18-dig effort against SWOSU and had only her fourth kill to go along with a service ace in the straight set victory over the Bulldogs.

For Faudoa, it is her first weekly recognition of the year and for Flynn, it is her fifth weekly honor in 2009.

Faudoa, Flynn and the Lions are back in action on Thursday at 7 pm against Midwestern State in Wichita Falls, Texas.
