2012 A&M-COMMERCE VOLLEYBALL SEASON REVIEW
A&M-Commerce volleyball had a memorable season in 2012 as the Lions reached the 20-win plateau, finishing 20-11 while notching a fifth-place finish in the LSC standings. A&M-Commerce posted an 11-9 record in conference play, advancing to the conference tournament for the first time since 2009. The Lions had a habit of making quick work of their opponents in 2012 as 15 of their 20 victories were in 3-0 sweeps.

LION VOLLEYBALL INKS THREE TO NATIONAL LETTERS OF INTENT
COMMERCE, Texas – A&M-Commerce head volleyball coach Craig Case today announced three additions to the Lion volleyball program beginning in 2013. Taryn Driver, Emily Schaffer and Lindsey Wheeler have signed National Letters of Intent and will suit up for the Lions beginning next summer.

A&M-Commerce heads to the postseason as the Lions travel to San Angelo for the 2012 Lone Star Conference Volleyball Championships this weekend at Stephens Arena. A&M-Commerce is the fifth overall seed and will face fourth-seeded Texas Woman’s in the quarterfinals at 5 p.m. Thursday, November 15.

SAN ANGELO, Texas – Four Lions were recognized with Lone Star Conference postseason accolades this evening, highlighted by senior middle blocker Rachel Robertson being named the Lone Star Conference Offensive Player of the Year. The awards were announced in conjunction with the 2012 Lone Star Conference Volleyball Championship banquet in San Angelo.

COMMERCE, Texas – A&M-Commerce was looking to send out the 2012 seniors in style in their final match at the Field House Saturday evening, but Tarleton State played the spoiler, handing the Lions a 10-25, 15-25, 22-25 defeat. A&M-Commerce wraps up the regular season 20-10 overall and 11-9 in Lone Star Conference play, finishing fifth in the conference standings.

ABILENE, Texas – A&M-Commerce made sure its final trip to Moody Coliseum for the forseeable future was a memorable one as the Lions outlasted Abilene Christian 25-23, 25-23, 30-28, notching its first win in Abilene since the 1995 season. The Lions also snapped a four-match losing skid to the Wildcats, improving to 17-7 overall and 8-6 in Lone Star Conference action.

A&M-Commerce head volleyball coach Craig Case has been selected as an assistant coach for the North Texas Region High Performance volleyball program. Case will team up with University of North Texas assistant Sarah Rumely to coach the HP Youth team, which will be competing at the 2012 USA Volleyball High Performance Championships in Des Moines, Iowa from July 24-28.
