ROBERTSON, NEAL RAKE IN LONE STAR CONFERENCE WEEKLY HONORS

RICHARDSON, Texas -- A&M-Commerce middle blocker Rachel Robertson and setter Jordan Neal have both been recognized with Lone Star Conference Player of the Week honors, announced today by the league office. Robertson is the Co-Offensive Player of the Week while Neal was selected as the Co-Setter of the Week, sharing the honors with Angelo State's Shelbi Goode and Alex Woolsey, respectively.

Both Robertson and Neal were selected to the Henderson State Invitational All-Tournament team this past weekend after helping the Lions to a perfect 4-0 weekend mark in which A&M-Commerce didn't drop a single set, despite playing back-to-back matches both days. The Lions took down Alabama-Huntsville and West Alabama on Friday, followed up by sweeps against LeMoyne-Owen and host Henderson State Saturday.

During the weekend, Robertson recorded 47 kills, a .500 hitting percentage, 10 service aces and 13 blocks to lead the Lions. She surpassed 10 kills three times, setting a season-high with 13 against both West Alabama and Henderson State, while hitting .600 or better in both matches. She also notched five blocks against the Lady Reddies and had at least two service aces in each match. Robertson upped her career kill total to 999, moving into a tie for ninth all-time in program history and one kill shy of joining the Lion 1,000-kill club.

Neal controlled the Lion offense all weekend, dishing out 141 assists (averaging 11.75 per set), nine blocks, six kills and 25 digs. She posted a season-best 42 assists against West Alabama and followed that up with 38 against LeMoyne-Owen in just three sets each. Neal closed out the weekend with her first double-double of the season, posting 35 assists and 11 digs in the sweep over host Henderson State.

Robertson, Neal and the rest of the Lions will be back on the court for a two-day, four-match date in Stephenville this weekend. A&M-Commerce will face Ouachita Baptist and Southeastern Oklahoma State on Friday, then turn around and battle William Jewell and New Mexico Highlands Saturday, looking to improve on their best start since 2003.
