A&M-Commerce closes out its four-match homestand by taking a break from Lone Star Conference action, hosting Southeastern Oklahoma State at the Field House Tuesday at 7 p.m. The Lions will be looking for a bit of payback as the Savage Storm defeated A&M-Commerce 3-2 at the Tarleton Volleyball Invitational on Sept. 7, handing the Lions their first defeat of the season.

Synopsis: Southeastern Oklahoma State opened up the year on a five-match skid before defeating A&M-Commerce 3-2 at the Tarleton Volleyball Invitational. They have gone 1-5 since that point, including another five-match skid, but enter Tuesday's match coming off a 3-0 victory over Northwestern Oklahoma State.
Tuesday marks the 31 st meeting between A&M-Commerce and Southeastern Oklahoma State, who use to be Lone Star Conference rivals. The Lions hold a 20-10 edge in the all-time series but the Savage Storm enter the match on a one-game winning streak, defeating A&M-Commerce 3-2 back on September 7.
The Week That Was
A&M-Commerce posted a 1-2 record at the Field House last week, facing arguably two of the top teams in the Lone Star Conference. The Lions fell to Texas Woman's 3-0 last Tuesday in its season opener, followed by a 3-0 defeat to sixth-ranked West Texas A&M Friday. A&M-Commerce responded on Saturday, rallying back to win the first set against Eastern New Mexico then dominating the next two to down the Zias 3-0.
Lions Among Lone Star Conference Leaders
A&M-Commerce continues to hold its own in the Lone Star Conference in 2012, sitting fifth in the standings with a 3-2 LSC record and is 10-3 overall. As a team, the Lions sit among the top half of the conference in four statistical categories, including leading the Lone Star Conference in service aces per set (1.89) and ranking fourth in both hitting percentage (.197) and kills per set (12.89). Individually, four different Lions are among the LSC leaders in six categories, highlighted by Rachel Robertson ranking second in hitting percentage (.375) and points per set (4.42) and Breanne Snyder leading the conference in service aces per set (0.49).

Following tonight's match, A&M-Commerce begins another lengthy road swing as its next four LSC matches will be away from the Field House. The Lions head north this weekend, facing Midwestern State in Wichita Falls on Friday, September 28 before taking on Cameron in Lawton, Okla. on Saturday, September 29.
