Synopsis: Henderson State opened up the season with a 3-0 victory of LeMoyne-Owen, followed by a six-match losing skid, including a 3-0 loss to A&M-Commerce in the final match of the Henderson State Invitational. The Lady Reddies are 0-6 in Great American Conference play, having lost 3-0 in all six conference matches.
Series Information
A&M-Commerce and Henderson State meet for the 38th time Tuesday evening with the Lady Reddies holding a 23-14 edge in the all-time series. But A&M-Commerce has had the upper hand as of late, winning the last three meetings and five of the last six, including a 3-0 sweep in Arkadelphia on Sept. 1. The Lions are 6-9 all-time against Henderson State at the Field House, taking a 3-0 victory in the 2011 season opener.
The Week That Was
A&M-Commerce wrapped up its tough Lone Star Conference road trip with a pair of hard-fought defeats. The Lions dropped a heartbreaking 3-2 defeat at Tarleton State Friday evening after A&M-Commerce rallied to win the fourth and held an 11-9 lead in the fifth. Rachel Robertson led the way with 20 kills and two blocks with Ezon Onditi notching a season-best 15 kills and Breanne Snyder adding 10 for the Lions. The following afternoon A&M-Commerce came out strong against Angelo State in San Angelo, but fell to the 12th-ranked Rambelles 3-0. Robertson again paced the Lions with 10 kills and five blocks as A&M-Commerce fell to 12-6 overall and 4-5 in Lone Star Conference play.
Stretch Run Looks Favorable For Lions
As we enter the second half of the Lone Star Conference season, the schedule starts to turn favorable for A&M-Commerce down the stretch. After being road warriors for the first month of the season, playing 14 of their first 18 matches away from Commerce, the Lions will be at home for eight of the final 12 matches of the season. Currently A&M-Commerce sits in a tie for fifth in the Lone Star Conference standings, aiming to make a run at the top of the conference standings.

Looking Ahead
A&M-Commerce continues its short three-match homestand with a pair of crucial Lone Star Conference matches this weekend. The Lions take on Texas A&M-Kingsville at 7 p.m. Friday, followed by a showdown with Incarnate Word, who is currently tied with A&M-Commerce in the LSC standings, at 1 p.m. Saturday afternoon.
