PAIR OF LIONS PULL IN LONE STAR CONFERENCE WEEKLY HONORS

COMMERCE, Texas – Senior middle blocker Rachel Robertson and junior setter Jordan Neal have both been recognized as Lone Star Conference Players of the Week, announced today by league officials. Robertson was tabbed the Co-Offensive Player of the Week with Neal nabbing Co-Setter of the Week.

Robertson earned her third LSC weekly honor of the season after putting together one of the best weeks of her collegiate career. She finished with 53 kills and a .551 hitting percentage in the 3-0 sweeps over Abilene Christian, Cameron and Midwestern State. Robertson notched a career-best 25 kills against the Wildcats, helping A&M-Commerce to its first win in Abilene since 1995. She then tallied 15 kills and a .652 hitting percentage against the Aggies and 13 kills with a .591 average against the Mustangs, logging no hitting errors against either.

Robertson continues to establish herself as one of the top players in the Lone Star Conference, leading the LSC in hitting percentage (.394) and points per set (4.6) while ranking second in kills per set (3.92). She also ranks among the top players in the country, sitting 13th nationally in hitting percentage, 18th in points per set and 26th in kills per set.

Neal earns her fourth weekly accolade of the season after leading the Lion offense all week, dishing out 123 assists to average 13.67 per set. She had a pair of double-doubles, notching 39 assists and 11 digs against Abilene Christian, followed by 48 assists and 12 digs against Cameron as A&M-Commerce hit .301 for the week. Neal also recorded 10 service aces, including six against Midwestern State to help seal the victory.

Neal continues to emerge as one of the top setters in the Lone Star Conference, ranking third in assists per set (11.00) while leading the LSC in service aces per set (0.38). She also is among the national leaders, sitting 16th in assists per set, and currently has 888 assists on the year, needing just 112 to become the fourth player in program history with back-to-back 1,000 assist seasons.
