All-American volleyball standout Marcie Hampton joined the A&M-Commerce staff in the winter of 2012 as an assistant coach and consultant. She has focused primarily on working with the Lion outside hitters and middle blockers.

"Marcie brings with her an incredible wealth of volleyball knowledge and experience," said head coach Craig Case. "Having competed and won at all levels of volleyball, she is able to relate to our players and understands the dynamics of game situations, which will be an incredible asset for this team moving forward. Marcie has made an immediate impact on all of our hitters, namely Rachel Robertson, Ciara Holmes and Ezon Onditi and has also been able to parlay her knowledge to help our ball control and defensive players."

Hampton was a three-time All-American at Florida, helping lead the Gators to four NCAA tournament appearances, including a pair of regional finals. A four-time All-SEC selection, Hampton concluded her career with 1,471 kills, averaging 3.34 per set, a .250 hitting percentage, 1,384 digs and 217 total blocks.

Hampton also made her mark on the international stage as well, serving as a member of the 2007 U.S. Women's National Team and winning a bronze medal at the Pan American Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Hampton was a member of the USA Junior National Team in 2001, 2002 and 2004, including as the team captain of the gold medal USA Youth National team in 2002.

A Gainesville, Fla. native, Hampton earned her degree in telecommunications from Florida in 2008. She graduated from P.K. Yonge High School where she was a two-time high school All-American and was named Florida's Miss Volleyball in 2002.
