MEN FINISH 10TH, WOMEN FINISH 20TH AT NCAA REGIONALS

Denver, Colorado – Lion cross country conclude seasons with run at NCAA South-Central Regional. The men conclude the season with a 10th place showing as a team and the women conclude with a 20th place finish in the overall standings.

The men were paced by All-Lone Star Conference runner Luis Romero and his 44th place finish with a time of 34:33 on the 10k course at Regis University. Raymond Mata concluded his season with a 51st place run and a time of 34:44. Everett Wilder recorded a time of 35:06, crossing the line in 58th. Alex Kimp and Fredrick Kipsang both recorded top 80 finishes. Kimp came across in 73rd with a time of 35:37 and Kipsang crossed in 79th at 36:00. Elias Garza also ran for the Lions and recorded a 36:32 and finished 103rd.

Jennifer Speer led the way for the women in Denver this weekend with her 106th place finish. Caroline Cotsakis recorded a 26:26, good enough for 118th overall. Katia Romero recorded the other top 120 finish when she crossed in 120th. Romero recorded 26:28. Kendall Christmas came across in 125th and ran a 26:42. Julieta Esquivel recorded a 28:15, fast enough for 142nd. Brooke Farris rounded out the effort in Denver with a 144th place run with a time of 28:23.
